We at Moose Creek Estates (MCE) are dedicated to providing exclusive investment / recreational mountain home sites. Our focus and passion is environmental enhancement. We have far exceeded all federal, state, and local environmental requirements for developing MCE. Add the Moose Creek Estates web site to your Favorites. MCE is unique in that the owner (Bob Wilson) is not a developer by profession but a retired executive with a love for this exquisitely beautiful area and the environment. Where a professional developer might invest a minimal amount of money to make the property marketable, Bob focuses on doing the right thing for the environment. Bob has spent more than $2 million on environmental enhancement over the past several years.

Moose Creek Estates is a gated community consisting of 30 home sites in 200 acres of prime real estate located four miles from the continental divide, the Idaho - Montana border, and Lost Trail Powder Mountain Ski Resort. The property is on the Lewis and Clark trail and was a placer gold mining claim in the late 1800's. It consists of a 2.5 mile-long valley with the North Fork of the Salmon River running its length. National Forest (Public Land) surrounds Moose Creek Estates on three sides providing excellent hiking, mountain biking, and horse access to several hundred thousand acres of public land. Of the three million plus acres in Lemhi County, only about six percent of that is private with limited opportunities for any ongoing development.

We chose a low-density housing strategy to limit impact to the environment and wildlife. Moose, elk, deer, and all kinds of wildlife abound on the property. The ninety plus acres of the North Fork River corridor that runs through the property is dedicated to a greenbelt. This will allow maintenance of the existing old-growth forest and the local fish and wildlife habitat. Homeowners and guests have an exclusive opportunity to view the wildlife and flora in a pristine setting along the nearly three miles of hiking / biking trail along the North Fork River. Words do not do justice to the beauty of this area or the incredible natural views of animal life.

Much of the local economy is geared around recreation. During the summer months, whitewater rafting, kayaking, and boating are enjoyed on the Salmon River. The several thousand miles of streams and rivers in the local area provide incredible fishing. Fly fishing for steelhead is a must try! Opportunities are nearly limitless for hiking, trail riding, mountain biking, fishing, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, and hunting. Skiing at Lost Trail Powder Mountain (only 4 miles from MCE) is exceptional with their 25 runs, 5 lifts, and unbelievable powder skiing with a relaxing, laid back, low cost, fun family adventure. Some rate the snow here as the best in the world.

Please take a few minutes to check out some of the local recreation web sites and local area photos linked to this web site. We welcome your inquiries. Lots range in size from 2 to 8 acres and are available (click for pricing).
